About This Site

This site is about THREE things: Understanding, management and hope.

It's about UNDERSTANDING. It's about understanding this strange "condition" referred to as "ADHD: Inattentive Type" or "Inattentive Attention Deficit Disorder," and how it affects our lives.  It's about understanding it on a human level, more than on a clinical level.

It's about MANAGEMENT. We can throw all the pharmaceuticals and therapy of the world at this thing, but ultimately our best bet is to use our understanding of the situation to manage our lives to the best of our ability. I like to think of it as working with the condition, rather than against it.

It's about HOPE. When we learn how to manage our lives with what's affecting us, we tend to be able to lift ourselves out of the fog. It's one of those "self-fulfilling prophecy" things. We use insight to make some small thing work better, so we feel better, so we can do more, so we can feel better still... and so it goes.

There's no "official" medical or mental health advice here... because I am not a doctor or psychologist.

What you will find here is personal stories and experience. A growing library of insights and resources; mostly sharing (in small chunks!) the "bits and pieces" from 50+ years of life. Articles on how insights were reached. Articles on actual experiences, and how they affected me. Articles on possible solutions.

I'm not here to "tell you what to do." I am just here to "share what happened, what it meant to me, and how it affected me; what worked, and what didn't work."

And if all works well, maybe you'll read something and suddenly something previously "foggy" will become clear.

If that happens, well... then creating this site was a worthwhile endeavor!
